Have a "I need" and "I Can Do" service to match-up capacity with needs.
It should be made easy for people to match-up what they can give with what needs doing. Lets create a facility to make this happen.

Here in my muncipality in Tasmania we are starting to get our heads around the bottom up approach as to the top down. The can do stuff is about not always sourcing the grants etc. BUT to just have the resilence, courage, passion to get on with it. The match-up idea was maybe what was the bit to keep it simple...thank you ! !

We have a website ( http://ecomodo.com/ ) that matches people who can/have to people that need. People can add the stuff they are willing to share (objects, skills & spaces) for others to borrow. And people who are looking for something can post a wanted ad to help find what they need nearby.

Isn't this what things like Streetbank (http://www.streetbank.com/) are trying to do.

Curiously enough I'm at a meeting today to see if we can use the Camden Shares model in other London boroughs and / or widen the spread. See: http://www.camdenshares.org.uk/about/

Thanks Nick. This might be something that Futuregov could help with through their http://simpl.co/ platform. It's still in beta, but sparking a lot of interest. I went to a speed dating session at the Hub this week which showed this possibility of mixing tech and face-to-face.
